Garden Explorers
Garden Basics
TK & K
Students are introduced to the garden through hands-on exploration in activities ranging from planting seeds, exploring soil, to adding garden herbs to freshly popped popcorn.

Plant Parts

First graders discover how different plant parts grow firsthand every week. Their garden projects include engineering and designing a trellis, making plant part pesto, and lots of plant exploration.

Compost Champions
Composting Basics
2nd Grade
Students learn about the basics of composting and why it is important for their school, community, and the environment.

Vermi-Composting
3rd Grade

EcoSolvers
Native Plants & Pollinators
4th Grade
Students bridge previous lessons from TK-3rd grade to engage local native California plants and pollinators and soil invertebrates by designing, planting, and showcasing an urban microhabitat. EcoSolvers then present a community resource in a project based learning showcase.

Future Foods
5th Grade
5th grade EcoSolvers are tasked with tasting, testing, and investigating foods of the future that are becoming more available in our markets when land space, water, and food access are getting more expensive and as we get more distant from our food sources, we ask students to consider sustainable and exciting new foods!
