First Year Fellow

Gardener Jason (he/him) grew up in the San Gabriel Valley and is passionate about making green spaces accessible for all, especially youth. At Food ED, he is part of the middle and high school programs and helps maintain Food ED’s digital communications, including the website and social media. With a background in Public Affairs and Sociology from UCLA, Jason brings a deep understanding of environmental justice, climate equity, and community engagement to his work. He has conducted research with organizations such as the UCLA Heat Lab, Abundant Housing LA, and the Luskin Center for History and Policy, with his work featured in outlets including NPR, NBC, and the LA Times.
